Founded in 1989 in response to the crisis in education in Africa, ERNWACA, a research network made up of 16 countries (Benin, Burkina Faso, Cameroon, Central African Republic, Congo, Côte d’Ivoire, Gambia, Ghana, Guinea, Mali, Mauritania, Nigeria, Niger, Senegal, Sierra Leone, Togo), promotes African expertise in the field of educational research to influence policies and practices.

The fifth edition of the ERNWACA research grants programme was officially published in January 2009 on the network’s Website with a call for papers addressed to network member countries and with posters posted on Higher education institutions. The regional scientific committee selected 25 research proposals out of 66 submitted from 16 ERNWACA member countries. 3 000 000 CFA francs (4.573,471 EUR) is available in funding for each project. This book on teaching and reflecting strategies on the pedagogical integration of ICTs in Africa is a collective and bilingual publication. It is divided into 10 chapters.
The second chapter is signed by Professor Pierre Fonkoua of the University Yaoundé I and entitled “ICTs for teachers of today and of tomorrow”.
