The Redmond company offers free download of Microsoft Office 2007 Professional on the PC teachers since the control of information tools and the Internet is one of the pillars of the knowledge base of any respectable student , Microsoft has chosen to make things easy and simple to students and teachers. They can now go to a website that offers the possibility to download the 2007 Office suite and activity sheets in their discipline.

UNESCO is launching Internet discussion on Open Educational Resources Toolkit

The UNESCO Community on Open Educational Resources (OER) is launching an Internet discussion in order to provide input to the finalisation of an OER Toolkit, which has been created to support the development and use of Open Educational Resources. Study shows classroom laptops can improve reading and writing skills

A recent study of classroom laptop use, conducted by Berlin’s Humboldt University with support from the Federal Ministry of Education Research and Deutsche Telekom, argues that laptop learning helps students learn everything from reading to independence. A project called "1,000 Times 1,000: Notebooks in Backpacks", in the German state of Lower Saxony, gave laptops to 13 continuing education schools in the state. The former President of India Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam, while addressing during one of the sessions of the Pan-African Parliament held at Johannesburg proposed a programme to connect all the 53 African nations by a Satellite and Fiber Optic Network that would provide effective communication and connectivity among the Nations, a network to primarily provide Tele-education, Tele-medicine, Internet, video-conferencing and VOIP services.
