UNECA, Microsoft agree to boost African economy with ICT

The United Nations Economic Commission for Africa (UNECA) and Microsoft agreed on Friday in Addis Ababa to promote development and foster regional cooperation in Africa by leveraging information and communication technology (ICT).

Information and Communication Technologies - The 14th ordinary summit of the African Union, which opens on Sunday in Addis Ababa, will give strong guidance to accelerate the reduction of the digital divide between the world and Africa which currently has only 2.5% of Internet users, said Friday in Addis Ababa, the AU Commissioner in charge of Information Communication and Technologie (ICTs).

Central Africa: ICT in schools - Teachers from the sub-region are retrained

A training workshop was opened on Monday at the Ministry of Basic Education.
Nearly thirty teachers of the Central African Republic, Chad and Cameroon are participating the training workshop on the pedagogical integration of information communication and technology in the classroom practice. The opening ceremony of this work took place on Monday at the Ministry of Basic Education, chaired by the Minister Youssouf Adjidja Alim.
