Senegal – ICT : the Ministry of National Education, Intel and USAID Sign Agreement

Dakar, April 30 (APS) - USAID, the Ministry of National Education (MONE) and the international firm Intel have signed Friday in Dakar, a partnership agreement aimed to “equip and connect to Internet 408 colleges in Senegal,” said a statement received at the APS.
“The agreement with Intel will also help in equipping ’ several colleges ’with last generation hardware , and will significantly boost the integration of ICT into teaching and learning in Senegal,” the source added.

The tripartite partnership between the Government of Senegal, the city of Besançon and the firm “Axa Assurances France” gave its fruit with the establishment of 73 multimedia rooms which will be completed by the end of this year by 80 other rooms in the country. It will thus be 15 000 Senegalese children who will have access to the internet through this rich partnership that fight against the digital divide, according to the director of Seneclic, Ababacar Diop.

Delivery equipments for the creation of the pan-African e-network

Under the proposed pan-Africane- network , the Minister of Posts, Telecommunications and new communication technologies, Thierry Moungalla made a gift of equipments of telemedicine, tele-education and diplomatic communications to the relevant institutions, including the University Hospital (CHU) of Brazzaville, Marien Ngouabi University and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The Minister of Post and Information Communication and Technology Mr. Bessalah, who was yesterday the guest of the show "En toute franchise " on Channel 2 of the National Radio, could shed some light on several subjects related to his sector.
