Technological Infrastructures and ICT Services: Africa Has Very Low Access Rate

Most African countries have a rate of access to ICT services extremely low indicates the Report on the economic outlook for Africa (PEA) 2010 published May 24, 2010 at Abidjan, in the Annual Meetings of African Development Bank (ADB).

The Chairman of Microsoft Africa, Modibo Diarra said on the sidelines of the Annual Meetings of the African Development Bank (ADB) that took place in Abidjan, Cote d’Ivoire on 27 and 28 May, the strategic relationship that his institution and the Group Bank have been maintaining to build a new Africa.

Dakar, May 20 (APS) - The 2nd meeting of African Ministers responsible for Information Communication and Technology (ICT) will be held from 7 to 9 June in Dakar, reported a statement sent on Thursday to the APS.
This meeting organized by the e-Africa Commission of NEPAD (New Partnership for Africa’s Development) will be held at the Hotel Meridien President.
20 African Ministers responsible for ICT will participate in this meeting, organized under the auspices of the African Union.

WSIS Forum 2010: Another step towards knowledge societies

The second edition of the annual multi-stakeholder event, the World Summit on the Information Society (WSIS) Forum took place from 10 to 14 May 2010 at ITU Headquarters in Geneva, Switzerland. Report of the workshop on the pedagogical integration of ICTs : Gender perspectives

On the 27th of April 2010 the workshop on Gender Perspectives, held in Dakar, Senegal, began with self introduction by all the participants, followed by a welcome address from Mr. Alioune Camara IDRC Senior Program Officer. Mr. Camara underlined the necessity for scientific publication relating to the PanAf data in the Observatory. The workshop on Gender Perspectives is also to give priority to publication.
